03/09/2010: The LSC has decided to fund and support a PNS Zone team traveling to the Zone meet in San Jose, California. The meet is August 10-14th with the team traveling down one day prior to the meet and returning one day after the meet on Sunday, August 15, 2010.  This PNS trip is dependent upon a currently registered PNS coach applying and being selected to be the Head Coach and coordinator for this trip.  The deadline for the Head Coach application is Saturday, May 1, 2010.  If a suitable candidate for the head coach role does not apply or is not selected, then the trip will be cancelled.  See the PNS Zone 2010 page for additional details and the head coach application.   Bruce Richards, Age Group Vice Chair

03/01/2010: At the USA Swimming Short Course National Championships, Deb Keane was awarded the 2009 USA Swimming Conoco Phillips Outstanding Service Award. Deb Keane has exemplified Outstanding Service in the Pacific Northwest. While hosting (as Meet Director) the two National Championship level meets as Meet Director this August, and the Short Course National Championships in December, and serving on the PNS Board of Directors as Safety Chair, and now Program Operations Vice Chair she has exemplified professional service to our sport.   Congratulations Deb for your selection for this award, and thank you for your service.  
03/01/2010: The Shadow Seals coached by PNS Disability Chair, Kiko Van Zandt were on the KING  5 News on 2/28/2010. View the video and read the transcript   Kayla Wheeler, paralympic swimmer was also featured on Evening Magazine, 3/1/2010.  If you know a young person with a disability that might be interested in swimming contact the PNS office and you will be put in contact with Kiko Van Zandt.
 
 
02/26/2010: The head coach has been selected for the North American Challenge Cup team that will travel to Santa Clara, California in August 2010 to represent PNS.  Read full announcement posted on the PNS North American Challenge Cup page.  Bruce Richards, Age Group Vice Chair.
 
02/20/2010: This is being posted as a community announcement only. PNS is not officially linked to this event. A fun meet is being organized to raise money to bring clean water to a needy community in Haiti.  The meet is called The HOPE Showdown and will be taking place April 3 at Shoreline pool.  You can read more here: http://hopeshowdownmeet.shutterfly.com/  This is not a sanctioned meet as there are no real swimming events. Events include: 25 underwater, 100 kick with board, 100 pull, 100 family medley relay, 75 with fins and paddles, 50 underwater with fins, 50 water polo swim with ball, etc.
