Safety Training for Swim Coaches

at Hazen
Pool
06/26/2010:
We will be hosting 2 Safety Training for Swim Coaches classes at
Hazen Pool. These will both be the fast track option that requires
downloading the materials from US Swimming web page and completing
an online portion prior to the water section. We are hosting the
water section only, all participants need to complete the online
portion on their own prior to the course. Please have all

USA Swimming Letter on Child Protection

04/12/2010:
In response to the recent media attention to our sport, USA
Swimming CEO Chuck Wielgus sent this letter to the USA Coach
Members. We feel that it is important for all to be able to
read this important letter on child protection
safeguards.
USA Swimming Approved Swimsuit
List
06/01/2009:
On May 19, 2009, FINA issued a list of swimsuits approved for
competition. The approved list, which was effective immediately and
is attached, includes 202 swimsuits.

PPNS Coaches ASCA Award Winners for
2008
02/26/2009: The American
Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) recently announced their awards
for 2008. Three individuals tied to Pacific Northwest Swimming
received awards. Congratulations to Dick Hannula, Sean
Hutchison and Greg Gillette.

Coaches' Committee Meeting 12/19/06
The following
is the summary from the Senior Coaches’ Committee meeting
held in Bellevue at the Bellevue Club on Tuesday December 19,
2006.
People Present:
Jack Ridley (Sr. Coaches’ Committee Chair) Andy Hathaway
(General Chair) ,Sean Hutchison (KING), John Walker (KING), Jorge
Fernandez (TSC), Doug Rusk (SBAY), Tom Pardee (CSC), Ken Spencer
(KING), Klaas Schenk (BC), Troy Emmons (WEST), Lyle Campbell
(SSCD), and Bruce Richards (Age Group Vice Chair). Bruce
Richards served as recording secretary for the meeting.
Introduction:
The meeting was facilitated by Jack Ridley (Senior Coaches’
Committee Chair) and by Andy Hathaway (General Chair) starting at
11:00 am. The purpose of the meeting was to address two items

(1) PNS subsidies for
national level swimmers
(2) Initial discussion
regarding competition schedules for the next competitive year
2007-2008.
