FORMATION OF AGE GROUP CHAIR COMMITTEE
Hello Coaches,
I hope the new year is treating you all well! At the Pacific Coast All Stars 2025 meet, PN showed up to race! Now that I have experienced 3 Team PN travel meets, I feel it is appropriate to start planning for Age Group Zones 2025.
The goal of this committee is to assist the Age Group Chair in the planning and execution of the 2025 Western Age Group Zones meet.
First items on the agenda will include:

Developing a Coaching Selection Criteria

Reexamine Athlete Selection Criteria
I am seeking 2 coaches, preferably individuals who coach athletes ages 14 and under, and 2 PN athletes aged 16 or older.
A projected timeline for the Age Group Committee is (dates are subject to change):
Feb 8 or 9th: First Meeting
March TBD: Second Meeting
April TBD: Third Meeting* as needed
June 1: Coach Application Due
June 14: Age Group Committee Meeting
June 15: Coach Selection Announcement
July 6: Athlete Application Due
July 13: Team Announcement
Aug 4-10: 2025 Western Age Group Zones Competition!
Joining the Age Group Committee is not the same as committing to coach at the 2025 Age Group Zones meet. Goals for creating this committee include promoting the exchange of ideas to improve the meet experience for athletes and families, as well as highlight the strengths of Pacific Northwest Swimming.
While the first action items will be revamping coach and athlete selection, other topics discussed will include meals, team activities, and future goals of the Age Group Committee.
