Last Sunday, approximately 20 swimmers from PNS, three teams SSCD, KING, and BBST, and 2 coaches participated in the inaugural Kona 2.4 mile Open Water swim in the Kailua-Kona bay. PNS finished 1-2-3 represented by Kjell Cady, Dylan Fisk, and Derek Jones.

Ryan Pachciarz, a longtime member of the PNS community, passed away on February 5th from brain cancer. Originally from Portland, Oregon, Ryan moved back to the Pacific Northwest after time in South Dakota and Texas and joined Issaquah Swim Team in the summer of 2006 as the program's first-ever Head Age Group Coach. He eventually rose to the level of Head Coach & CEO of the Sockeyes before stepping back from swimming in 2018.
